This policy explains what MarketingStackHub collects when you visit the site, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
MarketingStackHub is operated by Evgenii Sidorenko, based in Limassol, Cyprus. For anything in this policy, contact evgenii@marketingstackhub.com. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller for the personal data described here.
What this site does
MarketingStackHub publishes reviews and comparisons of marketing software. The site has no user accounts, no login area, no shop and no newsletter. You do not need to give us any personal information to read anything here.
What we collect
Analytics
If you consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. It records the pages you view, roughly how long you stay, which links you click, your approximate location (city level, derived from your IP address), and technical details such as browser, device type and screen size. Google truncates IP addresses and we do not receive your full IP address in our reports.
We also record when you click a link leaving the site, including which tool it points to. We use this to understand which reviews are useful. It is not tied to a name, an email address or any other identifier we hold.
If you decline analytics cookies, none of this is collected.
Server logs
Our host, Hostinger, keeps standard web server logs including IP addresses, timestamps and requested URLs. These exist for security and troubleshooting, are kept for a short period, and are not used for analytics or marketing.
Anything you send us
If you email us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply. If commenting is enabled on a page and you leave a comment, WordPress stores the comment, the name and email you supply, and your IP address.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We use three kinds:
- Necessary. One cookie records your choice on the consent banner so we do not ask again on every page. This is set whichever option you choose, and cannot be switched off.
- Analytics (only with your consent). Google Analytics sets
_gaand_ga_FNZR5T07ZBto tell repeat visits apart. They expire after two years. - Affiliate cookies, set by other companies. When you click through to a tool we recommend, that company may set a cookie on their site recording that you arrived from us. See below.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer, and you can delete cookies in your browser settings at any point.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and later buy a subscription, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend or what we write, and we disclose it on every page that contains one.
Practically, this means that when you click such a link, the destination company or its affiliate network records that the visit came from us, usually via a cookie set on their own site. That processing is under their control, not ours, and is covered by their privacy policy, not this one. The networks currently involved are PartnerStack, FirstPromoter, and the in-house programmes run by Make and Pabbly. Cookie lifetimes vary by programme and can be as long as 365 days.
We do not receive your name, email address or payment details from any of these programmes. We see only aggregate counts of referrals and commissions.
Why we are allowed to process this data
Under the GDPR we rely on two legal bases. Analytics cookies and the data they generate rely on your consent, given through the banner, which you may withdraw at any time. Server logs and basic security measures rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and free of abuse.
Who else sees the data
Google (analytics), Hostinger (hosting), and the affiliate networks listed above, in each case only as described. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Transfers outside the EEA
Google and several of the affiliate networks are based in the United States, so consented analytics data is transferred there. Those transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and on the standard contractual clauses in Google’s terms.
How long we keep it
In Google Analytics, event-level data is retained for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months, after which each is deleted automatically. Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or ask us to restrict it. Email evgenii@marketingstackhub.com and we will respond within one month.
In practice we hold very little that could identify you: if you have not emailed us or left a comment, we most likely hold nothing that we could link to you personally.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus, or to the supervisory authority in your own country.
Children
This site is aimed at marketing professionals and is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top. Significant changes affecting how we use analytics will be accompanied by a fresh consent request.
